What is the LIPA TEL Festival?
A week-long event for staff who support and contribute to teaching, facilitated by the TEL Team & other colleagues. The TEL Festival gives you the opportunity to connect with colleagues to discuss teaching practice, learn about new approaches and techniques, and discuss key issues in technology-enhanced learning.

Why should I attend?
Beginning on Monday 20th May, the TEL team and colleagues will be delivering a range of talks, workshops, and discussions about new technologies that will be available to students and teaching staff this year. Whether you are new to using technology to enhance learning or have a great deal of experience, the LIPA TEL Festival has been designed to ensure that you walk away from it both inspired and equipped with new skills to enhance your current practice and our students' learning experience.

Moodle 2019 - Did you know we will be moving to Moodle 3.6 this summer? What does this mean for you? Sign up for this session and find out! The session will provide an overview of how we use Moodle currently, as well as highlighting new features including responsive mobile access, analytics, audio and video integration, accessible content and much more. - Linkedin Learning - Are you time poor? Need to learn new skills but can't fit them in? With Linkedin Learning you can refine or develop your professional skills, learn new software, and explore other subject areas as you plan your professional development Accessible 24/7 from your desktop or mobile device, you can watch an entire course, or individual videos – in as little as 5 minutes. - Panopto Digital Video - LIPA's new Digital recording, streaming, and storage platform. This can be used to host video recordings, 'flip' classroom content, store student-generated assessment, and content, as well as record lectures, in a secure, searchable video platform that integrates with Moodle. Basically, everything we need for the 21st-century classroom! Booking required (click on the session you would like to attend below to register).
- Social Media Roundtable - A bi-monthly meeting for students, teaching and administrative staff, with the aim of sharing and supporting effective social media practices. This is a constantly changing, fast-paced environment and it can be difficult to keep up. By coming together face to face, we harness the knowledge within the room - sharing practical tips and advice and exploring new tools and approaches. Interested? - TEL Drop In - Talk to members of the TEL and ICT Team, ask questions, find opportunities to use technologies to support your teaching, learning or professional development. Drop in, no need to book. There will be Tunnocks Teacakes!
