Well, it is an open course focused on Mobile devices and apps that support learning. It flexible and short It is run and facilitated by a group of committed individuals from around the world. You can dip in and out of any of the topics over the next five days: Some might describe it as mini MOOC, but I won't. You can also earn badges for your participation. 25 Things I took away from of #ALTC 2018

I feel it’s important to remind myself that I’ve been fortunate during my career in learning technologies, that all the institutions I've worked for have recognised and valued my participation in my at the ALT conference. Not everyone receives the same support in their personal development and for that I’m grateful. My attendance at the 25 th birthday in Manchester will be the eighth time I’ve been active in this wonderful community event and the second time I’ve delivered a presentation. Although this time I not only presented with the bubbly #byod4l team but also led the #ALTNWESIG meeting as well. Busy times, so it is useful to look back over the conference and reflect (in a light-hearted way) on my key take away moments. 1. I didn’t enjoy the commute. University of Liverpool Social Media Round Table #LivUniSocial

This week I was contacted by an academic development colleague at University of St Andrews. He had stumbled across #LivUniSocial hashtag for our round table meetings and he wanted to know more about it. After speaking to him on the phone I thought it might be useful to summarise how the meetings are run, who turns up and the types of topics covered. Who knows, maybe it will inspire you to consider setting up your own! What is a Social Media Round Table? At the University of Liverpool, it is a bi-monthly meeting for academic and professional services staff (students also welcome!) that are interested in using social media to support and enhance the student journey in all its forms. The meetings offer a space in the University for Attendees to learn about examples of good practice from across the University, share practical tips and advice, as well as exploring new tools and approaches.
